Gobingarg, Feb 26: The Punjab government has reaffirmed its commitment to industrial growth with the opening of a massive animal feed manufacturing facility in Mandi Gobindgarh. Minister Sanjeev Arora, who holds the portfolio for Industries and Commerce, declared that the newly established Cargill plant represents a milestone in the state’s journey toward becoming a primary supplier of milk to other Indian states.
Minister Arora asserted that Punjab is increasingly preferred by investors, particularly within the food processing and agriculture sectors. He stated that the government provides a business-friendly environment through progressive policies that facilitate the rapid establishment of large-scale units. The Minister maintained that the new ₹300 crore unit in Wazirabad is Cargill’s second major investment in the state, following their successful operations in Bathinda.
The Minister declared that the facility’s output of 4.5 lakh metric tonnes per year would fundamentally change the dairy landscape. He stated that the local availability of high-quality feed is a strategic advantage for Punjab’s farmers. Minister Arora affirmed that the government’s vision is to mirror the state’s success as India’s “food bowl” within the dairy industry.
“Industry in Punjab is steadily progressing,” the Minister stated during an interaction with the media. He declared that the state is making continuous efforts to secure a spot among India’s top industrial states. He also maintained that the upcoming Investors’ Summit in Mohali would attract further participation from global stakeholders.
Executive leadership from Cargill India and local administration officials were present at the event. They stated that the cooperation received from the state government was instrumental in the timely completion of the project. The Minister asserted that the administration would continue to offer every possible support to ensure the success of such transformative industrial projects.
