New Delhi, Feb 12: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has officially filed a notice for a substantive motion in the Lok Sabha seeking the permanent disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi from Parliament. The move aims to not only cancel Gandhi’s current membership but also to bar him from contesting any future elections for the duration of his life.
Dubey clarified that his action is distinct from a privilege motion, describing it instead as a self-contained proposal intended for the House to express a formal opinion on Gandhi’s conduct. The MP noted that the basis for this demand rests on the nature of the Opposition Leader’s activities during his travels abroad.
“I have given a substantive motion notice wherein I have mentioned how he visits Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia with Soros Foundation, Ford Foundation and USAID, and colludes with anti-India forces,” Dubey said during an interaction at the Parliament House complex.
The lawmaker further alleged that these international trips involve direct coordination with organizations such as the Soros Foundation and USAID. According to the notice, such interactions constitute a serious breach that warrants the most severe legislative penalty available.
Dubey stated that the involvement of these specific foundations suggests a pattern of behavior that is incompatible with holding a seat in the Lok Sabha. He mentioned that the motion is designed to address what he describes as a collusion with elements working against national interests.
