Chandigarh, Jan 30: Regional weather patterns showed a stable trend on Friday as minimum temperatures stayed within comfortable limits for the season. The Meteorological Department confirmed that while Punjab witnessed a slight rise above the typical mercury levels, Haryana’s readings were largely in sync with its long-term seasonal averages.

“The minimum temperatures at several places in Punjab hovered above normal limits,” a department spokesperson directly said during the morning briefing. The city of Chandigarh mirrored this trend, as its low of 8.8 degrees Celsius reflected a slight increase from the standard seasonal expectations.

Within Punjab, the variation in nighttime temperatures remained notable. While Ludhiana reached a high-minimum of 10.2 degrees Celsius, Bathinda stood out as the coldest spot in the state. The temperature there settled at 5.5 degrees Celsius, providing the sharpest chill in an otherwise mild night. Amritsar’s low of 8.2 degrees Celsius was identified as being three degrees above the usual mark.

Haryana’s weather stayed balanced, with most observation points recording figures close to the normal range. Ambala’s minimum was noted at 9.8 degrees Celsius, while Hisar and Karnal stayed cool but stable at 7.2 degrees and 7.7 degrees Celsius. Rohtak rounded out the regional data with a minimum of 7.8 degrees Celsius, contributing to the overall steady climate currently prevailing across the northern plains.
