Naib Singh Saini: Police officers failing on crime may face demotion

by TheReportingTimes

Faridabad, Jan 8: Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on Friday warned that officers in charge of police stations where crime is rising will be held accountable, signaling zero tolerance for negligence in law enforcement.

Addressing reporters after a pre-budget consultation meeting, Saini said, “If crime or drug smuggling is increasing in any area, the concerned SP and station in-charges must seriously introspect. Accountability is non-negotiable.”

The CM emphasized that maintaining law and order is the government’s top priority. He asked officers to convene regular meetings, identify problems at the ground level, and implement concrete solutions.

“Responding promptly to complaints, especially from women, is the duty of police and administration,” he said, reiterating that laxity in policing will not be tolerated.

Saini also called for strengthened campaigns against crime and drug abuse to create a safe environment for citizens and uphold good governance throughout Haryana.
