Patna, October 31 — Promising to reshape Bihar’s growth story, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday released its manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections, announcing employment schemes, urban infrastructure upgrades, and sweeping social welfare commitments.
The document outlines a plan to generate one crore jobs and empower one crore rural women as “Lakhpati Didis.” “Our focus is on opportunity, dignity, and progress for every Bihari,” BJP president JP Nadda said while unveiling the manifesto in Patna alongside Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and other senior leaders.
Among the infrastructure promises are metro services in four more cities, seven new international airports, and seven expressways aimed at connecting key economic hubs. The NDA also announced plans for 10 industrial parks to attract investment and strengthen the state’s industrial base.
The manifesto dedicates major focus to education and health. It assures free education from kindergarten to post-graduation and a monthly ₹2,000 assistance for Scheduled Caste students pursuing higher studies. The alliance also pledged to establish a medicity of international standards and ensure every district has its own medical college.
In the health and welfare sector, the NDA promised free treatment worth ₹5 lakh per family, distribution of free rations, and construction of 50 lakh additional pucca houses across Bihar.
Nitish Kumar said the NDA’s plans “represent a vision rooted in ground realities.” Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary added that the coalition is “not making hollow promises but laying a roadmap for inclusive development.”
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan called the manifesto “a blueprint for transforming Bihar into a hub of education, health, and industry.”
