Chandigarh/Amritsar, March 28: A major new luxury hotel project is coming to Amritsar following a partnership between the Oberoi Group and Springedge Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora revealed on March 28 that the ₹400 crore initiative will introduce the “Trident” brand to Punjab for the first time, further strengthening the state’s high-end tourism infrastructure.
The project involves the construction of a 150-room facility situated near the Darbar Sahib. Officials expect the development to serve as a catalyst for job creation and regional growth. Arora asserted that the collaboration brings together the global luxury expertise of the Oberoi Group with the strong local presence of Springedge Solutions.
“This hospitality venture will be developed as a joint collaboration,” Arora affirmed. He stated that the project is a milestone for Amritsar’s position as a global cultural hub and will offer world-class amenities to visitors.
Invest Punjab played a central role in bringing the two parties together, reflecting the government’s focus on enabling high-value investments. The Minister informed that the state has seen its highest-ever investment figures this year, with a potential to create over 1.33 lakh jobs.
The new hotel is slated to begin work in mid-2026. While the Oberoi Group already manages The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort in New Chandigarh, this new site on the Amritsar–Tarn Taran Road will be the first under the Trident banner in the state. Arora declared that land-mark projects like this are becoming a reality due to the state’s commitment to economic growth and supportive industrial environment.
