Opposition cannot dig my grave: PM Modi

PM replies to Motion of Thanks in Rajya Sabha

by TheReportingTimes

NEW DELHI, FEB 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that the Congress party would never succeed in its attempts to undermine him despite their growing frustration over repeated electoral losses. While replying to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address, the Prime Minister noted that the opposition is struggling to accept that an individual from a humble background continues to hold the nation’s highest office.

The Prime Minister took a direct swipe at the ‘Mohabbat ki dukaan’ rhetoric, pointing out the contradiction in slogans being raised by opposition members. He mentioned that those claiming to spread love are instead shouting “Modi teri kabr khudegi” because they cannot reconcile with their political displacement.

“They will never be able to dig my grave,” Modi said.

He further suggested that the Congress leadership views the Prime Minister’s post as a family legacy and feels entitled to the position. According to the Prime Minister, the daily verbal attacks against him stem from a deep-seated hatred that has intensified as his government completes eleven years in power.

Turning his attention to the Trinamool Congress, the Prime Minister accused the Mamata Banerjee-led administration in West Bengal of shielding infiltrators. He said these individuals are encroaching upon the land of tribals and depriving the youth of their legitimate rights and employment opportunities.

The Prime Minister stated that his resilience comes from the support of the marginalized sections of society. He noted that the blessings of crores of mothers, sisters, and the poor act as a shield against the opposition’s hostility.

Reflecting on the nation’s financial health, he said that high growth coupled with low inflation demonstrates the inherent strength of the Indian economy. He reaffirmed that the country is on a steady path to becoming the third-largest economy globally.
