CHANDIGARH, Feb 16 — Aam Aadmi Party State Media Incharge Baltej Pannu issued a pointed rebuttal to opposition leaders on Monday, asserting that their disapproval of the recent Village Defense Committee (VDC) oath-taking ceremony in Moga stems from a “pro-drug mindset.” Pannu maintained that the outcry over government spending on the event is a diversion from the opposition’s own historical failures in addressing the narcotics crisis.
Responding to allegations regarding the misuse of public funds, Pannu stated that those who previously used government machinery to facilitate the drug trade have no moral standing to lecture the current administration. He affirmed that the Bhagwant Mann government is utilizing taxpayer money specifically to eradicate addiction and protect the youth, rather than providing shelter to traffickers.
Pannu declared that the massive gathering at Killi Chahal was only the initial phase of a larger movement. He noted that the opposition appears troubled by the sight of citizens uniting against the drug menace. According to the media incharge, the frustration of rival parties is rooted in the fear that a drug-free Punjab will effectively “shut down their political shops.”
The AAP leader reaffirmed that the second phase of the “Yudh Nashian Virudh” campaign is destined for success because it carries the mandate of the Punjabi people. He maintained that the state government remains firm in its resolve and will not spare anyone found to be compromising the future of the younger generation.
