Over 100 Terrorists Eliminated Under Operation Sindoor: DGMOs

by TheReportingTimes

NEW DELHI, May 11 — In a rare joint briefing on Sunday, India’s Directors-General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from the Army, Navy, and Air Force disclosed the full extent of Operation Sindoor, revealing that over 100 terrorists, including high-value targets, were neutralized in a series of precision strikes carried out on May 7.

Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, DGMO of the Indian Army, said that nine terror targets were identified after detailed intelligence assessments and were struck with pinpoint accuracy. “These strikes were carried out with precision and deliberation, resulting in the elimination of more than 100 terrorists,” he said.

Among those killed were major figures linked to previous terror attacks on Indian soil, including Yusuf Azhar—accused mastermind of the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed, one of the key conspirators in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack.

Ghai also reported significant Pakistani military casualties. “Between May 7 and May 10, it is estimated that the Pakistan Army lost 35 to 40 personnel during the exchanges that followed our offensive,” he said.

The military briefing comes amid heightened tensions along the Line of Control (LoC), following India’s hardened stance against ceasefire violations by Pakistan.

Government sources said Sunday that Operation Sindoor marks the establishment of a “new normal” in India’s response to cross-border terrorism. “The Prime Minister has made it clear—every action by Pakistan will be met with a stronger response,” a senior official said.

“Wahan se goli chalegi, toh yahan se gola chalega,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the armed forces after the operation, sources revealed—an explicit directive to escalate proportionately to aggression from across the border.

The DGMOs said that India’s approach moving forward will continue to prioritize decisive and measured retaliation against terrorism. The officials did not take questions but indicated that further briefings would follow as operations develop.

With tensions still simmering at the LoC, the armed forces remain on high alert. The government has urged restraint in public discourse and reiterated its call to refrain from speculation regarding ongoing military operations.
