HOSHIARPUR — Declaring that public welfare remains the core focus of the administration, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurated 154 new Aam Aadmi Clinics to strengthen community-level healthcare delivery across Punjab.

Addressing attendees at the launch event in Chabbewal on Wednesday, Chief Minister Mann pointed out that the newly added facilities bring the state’s total network to 1,245 clinics. He noted that these centers provide 107 medicines and 47 types of diagnostic tests entirely free of charge, significantly easing financial burdens for ordinary households.

“The 1,090 Aam Aadmi Clinics already operating across Punjab have considerably strengthened people’s confidence in government healthcare institutions,” CM Bhagwant Singh Mann observed. “Around one lakh people visit these clinics every day to receive treatment, and a total of 6.48 crore OPD visits have been recorded so far. This reflects the trust people have placed in these facilities.”

The Chief Minister cautioned against political changes that could threaten existing welfare programs, including subsidized travel and medical schemes. He maintained that the government’s comprehensive approach—spanning healthcare expansion, educational reforms, and merit-based job creation—aims to build a more equitable society.

Highlighting recruitment milestones, the Chief Minister affirmed that the state has successfully strengthened medical institutions by appointing thousands of doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers over the past four-and-a-half years to support the growing patient volume.
