HOSHIARPUR, June 27 — Panjab University’s Swami Sarvanand Giri Regional Centre (PUSSGRC) in Hoshiarpur has recorded over 100 placement offers for the 2024–25 academic year, with the highest salary package reaching ₹24.79 lakh per annum, officials said.
More than 40 companies—including Infosys, Cognizant, ChicMic and Xenonstack—participated in over 50 recruitment drives conducted on campus, underscoring the institute’s growing appeal among employers.
Infosys alone selected 13 students for various roles, offering packages of ₹9.5 LPA for specialist programmers and ₹6.5 LPA for digital specialist engineers. Around 23 students secured double placements, reflecting strong overall performance.
“The consistent placement record is the result of ongoing industry engagement and strategic planning,” said Vrajesh Sharma, the training and placement officer at PUSSGRC. “The UIET and the Department of Computer Science and Applications have worked together to build industry-ready talent.”
To ensure student preparedness, the institute offered extensive pre-placement training, including modules on aptitude development, logical reasoning, and quantitative skills. Soft skill development such as resume writing, group discussions, and interview techniques was also a key focus.
Mock interviews—both technical and HR—were held to mirror actual recruitment processes, while specialised mentoring sessions helped students enhance their domain-specific knowledge and problem-solving abilities.
The strong placement season has reinforced PUSSGRC’s standing as a competitive destination for technical and professional education in the region.
