Paperless Verification Debuts

Chandigarh, Jan 12: Punjab has moved to a fully digital verification system for school education records with the launch of the E-Sanad platform. The new service streamlines the process of authenticating Punjab School Education Board documents, making them ready for international use through a single window linked to the Ministry of External Affairs.

The digital transition addresses the challenges faced by students seeking overseas education or jobs, where document legality is a primary requirement. Under the new framework, the lengthy embassy legalisation process is replaced by a more efficient electronic workflow that adheres to international standards.

“The service is available to all students and alumni who need verification of PSEB-issued mark-sheets,” Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains noted. He mentioned that the move will make the process faster and entirely paperless, providing much-needed convenience to the youth.

PSEB Chairman Dr Amarpal Singh directly said that applicants no longer need to visit the board’s headquarters in person. He mentioned that step-by-step instructions have been uploaded to the board’s official website to guide users through the online payment and application stages.

The system specifically caters to requirements under the Hague Convention, providing a single Apostille certificate that is recognized by all member countries. Officials noted that this reform not only saves time but also strengthens the integrity of Punjab’s educational certificates in the global market.
