State Follow-Up Initiative Ensures Continuous Care Beyond Hospital Gates

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, August 29: Efforts to enhance the quality of public medical services in the region have gained momentum as the 104 Health Helpline actively engages with citizens following their discharge under the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana.

The outreach framework is designed to transition public health services from single-point interventions into long-term patient support. Staff assigned to the helpline conduct structured checks to confirm that patients face no financial hurdles, receive post-care prescriptions, and have a direct line to air any concerns.

Baldev Singh of Hoshiarpur, who accessed orthopaedic treatment at SDH Dasuya, declared that the post-discharge check-in made the recovery process smooth and supported. He noted that the initiative ensures citizens feel valued by the health system throughout their healing journey.

Mansa resident Hardev Singh similarly affirmed that receiving follow-up calls after treatment at DH Bathinda gave his family complete peace of mind. He stated that the government ensured seamless cashless facilities alongside attentive post-hospitalization care.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh maintained that the core objective of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana is to build a responsive, citizen-centric health infrastructure. He declared that gathering real-time experiences directly from citizens helps identify gaps, measure service satisfaction, and systematically upgrade public hospital standards across the region.

Beyond monitoring post-treatment outcomes, the state helpline maintains round-the-clock operations to deliver medical guidance, de-addiction counselling, and comprehensive information on government healthcare entitlements.
