PGIMER Wins National Health Tech Award Again

by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, Dec 19 — For the second consecutive year, PGIMER has been recognized as India’s leading health technology assessment institute, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Friday.

The accolade was given at the ARISE 2025 conclave in New Delhi, organised by Health Technology Assessment in India, a central body under the ministry. Prof VK Paul of NITI Aayog and Dr Rajiv Bahl of ICMR jointly presented the award.

“PGIMER’s research continues to shape health policy and improve public health outcomes,” said Director Vivek Lal. Prof Arun Kumar Aggarwal added that the institute plans to broaden its advanced training programmes in health economics and technology assessment.

The institute’s recognition is powered by the HTA Resource Hub at the Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, which has established PGIMER’s national prominence. The institute had previously received the same award at the ICMR–DHR Health Summit last year.
