Mumbai, April 26: Union Minister Piyush Goyal has stated that incidents like the recent Pahalgam terror attack will persist unless all 140 crore Indians regard patriotism and nationalism as their “param dharma” (supreme duty).
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai on Friday, Goyal expressed confidence that a united national resolve would pave the way for the revival of tourism in Kashmir and the continuation of the Amarnath Yatra.
“Until all Indians view patriotism as their supreme duty, such attacks will continue,” Goyal remarked, following the deadly Pahalgam incident.
He added that these attacks are the “desperate last efforts” of those seeking to destabilize India.
“It is an unbearable attack, but we will not spare anyone,” he said, underscoring India’s determination to retaliate.
Pahalgam is a crucial base camp for the annual Amarnath Yatra, a pilgrimage that follows a 43-km route to the 3,880-meter-high cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas.
The yatra is set to begin on July 3 and conclude on August 9 this year.
Goyal raised hope for the pilgrimage, saying that people’s conviction would soon see its revival despite the recent setback.
