PM Modi Honored with Kuwait’s Prestigious Award

by TheReportingTimes

Kuwait, 22 December 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Kuwait’s highest distinction, ‘The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer’, on Sunday, marking the 20th international accolade bestowed upon him during his tenure. The honor was presented by the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, as part of Modi’s ongoing diplomatic engagements.

The Order of Mubarak Al Kabeer is a prominent knighthood of Kuwait, typically awarded to heads of state, sovereigns, and royalty from abroad as a symbol of mutual respect and strengthened bilateral relations. Modi’s achievement places him in a distinguished league of global leaders, including Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Prince Charles, who have received the award in the past.

“I am deeply honored to receive the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Order from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah. This recognition is dedicated to the people of India and reflects the enduring friendship between India and Kuwait,” PM Modi shared in a post on the social platform X.

This recognition from Kuwait adds to a growing list of awards that the Prime Minister has earned during his overseas trips. In the past month, Modi received Guyana’s highest honor, ‘The Order of Excellence’, during his state visit to the country.

“I express my heartfelt thanks to my friend, President Irfaan Ali, for presenting me with Guyana’s highest award. This honor is a testament to the strength of our relations and will inspire us to collaborate across all fields,” Modi remarked after receiving the award.

In another significant gesture of recognition, Prime Minister Modi was conferred the ‘Dominica Award of Honour’ by President Sylvanie Burton of Dominica. “I am honored to receive the highest award of Dominica, which I dedicate to the 1.4 billion people of India,” Modi said in his post on X.

During his current visit to Kuwait, PM Modi was given a grand ceremonial reception at the Bayan Palace, where he was greeted with a Guard of Honour, a traditional sign of respect. The Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, was present at the event.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) provided further details of the warm welcome in a statement on social media: “PM @narendramodi arrives at Bayan Palace in Kuwait to a ceremonial welcome and Guard of Honour. He is warmly received by HH Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, as extensive talks with the Amir, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister lie ahead.”

PM Modi’s formal visit and his award reflect the growing and strengthening diplomatic ties between India and Kuwait. These developments underscore India’s rising global stature, as Modi continues to foster international relationships and secure high-level recognitions.
