Samastipur, Oct 24 — Sounding the poll bugle for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged voters to choose “good governance over jungle raj,” as he launched the National Democratic Alliance’s campaign from Samastipur.
Before a charged crowd, Modi declared that the NDA, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, was poised for its “biggest-ever” victory in the state. “This time, under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, NDA will break all its previous records of victory. Bihar will give NDA its largest mandate yet,” the Prime Minister said, amid chants of “Phir Ek Baar NDA Sarkar.”
Calling the election a “grand festival of democracy,” Modi appealed to voters to protect Bihar’s progress and stability. “The entire Bihar is saying — ‘Phir Ek Baar NDA Sarkar, Phir Ek Baar Susaasan Sarkar.’ Jungle-raj walon ko dur rakhega Bihar,” he said.
The Prime Minister’s rally marks the beginning of an intense election season in Bihar, where the NDA is banking on Nitish Kumar’s governance record and its welfare initiatives, while the Opposition has intensified its campaign focusing on unemployment and price rise.
