KARNAL, July 31 — Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the Congress, blaming it for the existence of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and accusing it of historical blunders that continue to haunt the nation.
“PoK is a gift of Congress’s failure. It exists today because of their weak policies and compromised decisions,” Badoli told reporters at a BJP district office-bearers’ meeting in Karnal. “The country is still paying the price for the mistakes made by Congress governments.”
Badoli further alleged that Congress leaders often echo rhetoric used by Pakistan and terrorist organisations. “Particularly Rahul Gandhi and other opposition leaders speak the same way the Pakistani government does,” he said. “Their language resembles that of terrorists.”
Taking aim at the opposition’s criticism of the armed forces, the BJP leader remarked, “It has become a mindset of the opposition to question our Army. While the BJP prioritises national interest, the opposition is focused on self-interest.”
Responding to former Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala’s remark calling Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini a “dummy CM,” Badoli dismissed it as irresponsible. “Chautala often speaks without seriousness,” he said.
He also slammed the Congress party’s current state, claiming it has lost relevance and national presence. “Congress has become a party of a few families. Even their own leaders are waking up and leaving. It is no longer a national party,” Badoli asserted.
During the meeting, which he described as a “festival of organisation,” Badoli outlined the BJP’s structural achievements in the state. He said the party had formed committees at all 2,00,629 booths, as well as executive bodies in 370 mandals and 27 district units, solidifying its status as Haryana’s strongest political force.
Badoli also announced a state-level Partition Horrors Remembrance Day event in Faridabad on August 14, to honour families who migrated from Pakistan during the partition. The event will be attended by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, state ministers, and BJP MLAs. Tiranga Yatras will also be held across districts.
On the issue of employment, Badoli praised the state’s recruitment process, highlighting the success of Common Eligibility Test (CET) exams conducted “in a festival-like atmosphere.” He credited the Nayab Singh Saini government for merit-based, corruption-free recruitment and promised continued improvement in future examinations.
