by TheReportingTimes

Chandigarh, Dec 12: Chandigarh Police are reviewing CCTV footage from key junctions in Sectors 29, 30 and 20 in an attempt to trace two unidentified men who robbed a domestic worker on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim, Malti Verma, said the snatchers arrived on an Activa scooter and targeted her near the Sector 29-B bus stop. According to her statement, the pillion rider first attempted to snatch what she described as the “top” on her ear, but she resisted. The men then took her handbag and rode off.

The stolen bag contained a mobile phone, approximately ₹8,500 in cash and a gold nose pin. Verma said she could recognise the assailants if police apprehend them. “I remember their faces clearly,” she told officers.

Police registered a case after verifying the incident and began scanning the route taken by the riders. Officers said they are focusing on CCTV cameras near the 29/30 and 20/30 light points to identify the scooter and its occupants.
