Chandigarh, March 20: A world tour featuring a high-fidelity hologram of the late Shubhdeep Singh, known professionally as Sidhu Moosewala, has been confirmed for a mid-year debut. The “Signed to God World Tour” marks the first time an Indian performer will be featured in a posthumous hologram concert series of this scale. The technology uses light and visual effects to project a 3D illusion of the artist, a method previously employed for tours featuring Whitney Houston and Frank Zappa.
The announcement was accompanied by the launch of a dedicated website and a teaser video that quickly gained traction among the singer’s global following. The tour aims to deliver an emotional concert experience by blending Moosewala’s original audio recordings with live stage effects. Representatives for the project maintained that the goal is to allow fans to feel the presence of the artist through a multi-sensory 3D environment.
Initial reports suggest the tour will visit major markets including the UK, USA, Canada, and the UAE, with a tentative start date set for June 11. This date holds significance as the anniversary of the singer’s birth. The promotional material also featured a nod to the singer’s young brother, Nikka Sidhu, whose birthday was recently celebrated on March 17.
Since his passing in 2022, Moosewala’s influence has persisted through a steady stream of new music released by his estate. Before his death in Mansa, the artist had also ventured into the political sphere, contesting the 2022 Assembly elections. The upcoming digital tour serves as a continuation of his career, with the tour’s organizers declaring that the singer’s journey is far from over.
