Jalandhar, Feb 23: Jalandhar is set to observe International Mother Language Day with a massive public march on February 26, organized by the Punjab Jagriti Manch. The organization held a planning session at the Circuit House to coordinate the logistics for the upcoming cultural event.

General Secretary Deepak Bali affirmed that the march is a recurring annual tradition dedicated to honoring the Punjabi language. He maintained that the route will traverse the heart of the city, moving from Nakodar Road toward Bhagwan Valmiki Chowk and Bhagat Namdev Chowk before reaching its final destination.

“Various Punjabi singers of Punjab will sing the praises of mother tongue Punjabi songs at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall,” Bali stated while outlining the program highlights.

The planning committee, led by Satnam Singh Manak, included representatives from various sectors of society. Attendees such as Parveen Abrol, Principal Anoop Vats, and singer Dalwinder Dayalpuri declared their support for the initiative. The Manch has extended a broad invitation to all citizens to participate in the celebration.

Bali asserted that the involvement of diverse groups, ranging from social organizations to academic institutions, is essential for the success of the march. He declared that the event is intended to be a better and more orderly demonstration of linguistic pride than in previous years.
