London, Oct 5: Prince William marked the halfway point of the Earthshot Prize, his 10-year, $64.54 million environmental initiative, by reflecting on both the urgency of climate action and his motivation as a father.
The 2025 ceremony will be held in Rio de Janeiro, aligning with the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30). Finalists this year include tech to remove microplastics, iron-based renewable energy storage, sustainable fashion initiatives in Lagos, and upcycled skyscrapers in Australia.
Prince William emphasized the “urgent optimism” of the prize and celebrated the finalists as environmental heroes.
The Earthshot Prize continues to drive global collaboration toward a sustainable future.
