Probe Widens as Mohali Police Track Goldy Dhillon Network

MOHALI, Dec. 5 — The arrest of Rajat Kumar on Wednesday marks the latest step in the expanding crackdown on the Goldy Dhillon criminal module, which has now led to seven arrests and multiple weapons recovered.

Officials said Kumar’s connection surfaced after Mohali police and AGTF arrested two shooters on November 12, followed by four others near the Dera Bassi–Ambala highway on November 26. The arrests prompted formation of a dedicated team led by SP (rural) Manpreet Singh and Dera Bassi DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar.

Senior superintendent of police Harman Deep Singh Hans said the team traced Kumar’s movements and role in aiding the gang. “His activities matched inputs we received from earlier interrogations. That led us to him,” he said.

Investigators found that Kumar met gang members while serving a jail term in 2019 and later operated under the instructions of Mandeep, a Spain-based aide of Goldy Dhillon. Police said he was involved in arranging shelter, facilitating movement, and helping transport weapons.

Hans said the ongoing crackdown, initiated under chief minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, has so far led to the recovery of nine pistols and 80 live cartridges.
