BATHINDA, May 26 — The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has frozen multiple properties and assets belonging to dismissed constable Amandeep Kaur, arrested in connection with drug trafficking and disproportionate wealth accumulation.
An official order lists the frozen properties, including a Mahindra Thar SUV valued at Rs 14 lakh, a Royal Enfield motorcycle worth Rs 1.70 lakh, a residential building at Virat Greens Colony valued at Rs 99 lakh, and a plot in Dream City colony worth Rs 18.12 lakh. Additionally, two iPhones, a Rolex watch worth Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 1.01 lakh in cash from her bank account have been seized and barred from transfer or sale.
The car involved in the drug seizure was not frozen as it had been sold months earlier to Gaganpreet Singh Mann, with the transfer process still underway.
Amandeep Kaur, known on social media as the “Instagram Queen” or the “Thar wali constable,” was arrested on May 26, 2025, after 17.71 grams of heroin were found in her black Mahindra Thar during a joint operation by Bathinda Police and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force near the Badal flyover in April 2025. Following the arrest, she was dismissed from the Punjab Police for breaching professional conduct.
A financial probe revealed her expenditures between 2018 and 2025 exceeded her known income by approximately ₹31.27 lakh, showing a 28.85% discrepancy. The probe uncovered ownership of luxury vehicles including a Mahindra Thar, Audi, and Innova, along with expensive watches like Rado and Rolex and designer items such as Gucci sunglasses. She also owns a house valued at around ₹2 crore.
Kaur was charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act after investigations linked her assets to illegal income generated from drug trafficking.
Her Instagram presence—boasting over 30,000 followers—featured her flaunting a lavish lifestyle often while in police uniform, a violation of departmental rules that contributed to raising suspicion.
Authorities continue their probe into the full extent of her illegal activities and assets.
