Chandigarh, April 21 — The Punjab government has declared Tuesday, April 29, 2025, a gazetted holiday in observance of Lord Parshu Ram Jayanti. All government offices and educational institutions will remain closed on the day.
An official notification confirmed that the holiday applies to all state-run institutions, making it the seventh public holiday in April.
The month already includes six gazetted holidays:
Ram Navami on April 6
Shri Guru Nabha Das Ji’s birthday on April 8
Mahavir Jayanti on April 10
Baisakhi on April 13
Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s birthday on April 14
Good Friday on April 18
Officials said the decision to observe Lord Parshu Ram Jayanti as a public holiday was consistent with the state’s commitment to honoring religious and cultural figures.
