CHANDIGARH/MOHALI, APRIL 8 — Punjab is set to enhance its presence in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions sector with a new multipurpose convention center in Mohali. The center is planned for a 15-year concession period and will feature expansive exhibition halls totaling 55,000 square feet. Arora stated that the facility is designed to support a wide array of activities, from corporate trade fairs with 500 booths to cultural programs for 10,000 attendees.
“The ECC will significantly enhance our capacity to host global events and attract investments,” the Minister asserted. “Mohali is fast emerging as a modern urban hub, and this world-class infrastructure will further accelerate its growth.”
Details provided during the announcement indicated that the site would include parking for 1,000 vehicles and landscaped public spaces. Arora maintained that the project aligns with the broader vision of establishing Mohali as a 21st-century services hub.
The Minister affirmed that the development would provide a major boost to the hospitality and tourism industries. He noted that the integration of modern IT and audiovisual systems would ensure the venue meets international standards for large-scale national summits and exhibitions.
