Mohali, March 11: The Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana has once again proven its efficacy by providing a Mohali family with cashless access to a life-saving cardiac surgery. Sukhwinder Kaur, who faced a sudden medical emergency, was able to receive a heart stent and comprehensive hospital care without paying the estimated Rs 4 lakh treatment fee.
State officials declared that the program now covers major procedures up to Rs 10 lakh per eligible family at various empanelled hospitals. The family of the patient maintained that the swift processing of their health card eligibility was the deciding factor in her recovery. They asserted that the government’s support turned a life-threatening moment into a manageable situation, allowing them to focus entirely on the patient’s post-operative care and stability.
The Government of Punjab has reinforced its healthcare infrastructure by ensuring that 70% of patients in government hospitals now receive free treatment. Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh affirmed that the sustained financial backing of the scheme is designed to protect families from the high costs of private medical intervention. He declared that no family in the state should have to compromise on health due to their economic status, emphasizing that the scheme’s wide reach is a testament to the government’s dedication to public welfare.
