Sri Anandpur Sahib, Nov 25: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday joined the sangat at Gurdwara Baba Budha Dal Chauni to pray for the progress of Punjab and the well-being of its people, marking the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

The leaders participated in the Ardas following the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, commemorating the sacrifices of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji along with martyrs Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji. They expressed gratitude to the Guru and prayed for welfare and prosperity.

“It is a great honour to serve during these historic commemorations,” Mann and Kejriwal said.
Addressing the congregation, both leaders said Sikhism teaches the principles of socialism and secularism to the world. “Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji serves as a beacon of universal brotherhood and guidance for humanity,” they noted.

They mentioned the Sikh legacy of courage and justice. “The people of Punjab, and especially the Sikh community, have inherited the glorious heritage of sacrifice from the Gurus, who taught resistance against oppression and injustice,” the leaders said.

Mann and Kejriwal further stressed the state government’s duty to preserve Punjab’s cultural heritage. “Millions across the globe wished the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to be observed on a scale befitting the master’s supreme sacrifice. Our government has strived to make these events memorable, and the people of Punjab feel privileged to participate in this sacred historical occasion,” they added.
