by TheReportingTimes

CHANDIGARH, Jan 2 — Several senior officers of the Punjab Police have been promoted following a major departmental reshuffle announced by the state government.

The Home Department, acting on instructions from the Punjab Governor, issued a notification confirming four promotions to the rank of Inspector General (IG). One IPS officer has been elevated to Additional Director General of Police (ADGP).

Officials said the reshuffle is aimed at strengthening leadership within the police department and improving operational efficiency. “These promotions reflect both seniority and performance of the officers,” a senior official said.

The move marks a significant update in Punjab Police’s leadership hierarchy and comes as part of broader administrative adjustments at the start of the year.
