Chandigarh, Dec 15: Punjab Police is monitoring a third associate of the recently arrested gangsters, who is reportedly in Armenia and coordinating terror-related activities, officials said on Monday.

The third suspect, Shemsher Shera, is being tracked following the arrest of Sajan Masi from Gurdaspur and Manish Badi from Amritsar in a Mumbai interstate operation, described by DGP Gaurav Yadav as a significant achievement in combating organised crime and terrorism.

“They were backed by Pakistan-based ISI operative Harvinder Singh Rinda and US-based Passia, who is detained abroad,” Yadav said. “With the help of central agencies, Punjab Police is determined to bring all involved to justice.”

The arrests are linked to multiple criminal activities in the Dera Baba Nanak area, including grenade attacks, extortion, and murders. The DGP warned that anyone involved in such crimes abroad would face trial in India.
