CHANDIGARH, Nov. 20 — Sri Anandpur Sahib will witness a grand three-day congregation from November 23 to 25 to mark the 350th Shaheedi Divas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his companions Bhai Mati Das Ji, Bhai Sati Das Ji, and Bhai Dayala Ji. The Punjab government has organized the event to commemorate the Gurus’ sacrifices and their message of protecting human rights and faith.
The program will open with an Akhand Path in the presence of Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann and National Convener Arvind Kejriwal. Officials noted the event will emphasize devotion and service, which are central to Sikh traditions.
An exhibition on the life and teachings of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji is also part of the event, aiming to educate visitors—particularly youth—on the Gurus’ courage and their defense of humanity.
A notable feature on November 23 will be an interfaith conference where leaders from different communities will discuss themes of unity, tolerance, and human rights. “Sikh history is not just a Sikh story; it is a message for all humanity,” said a spokesperson involved in the event’s organization.
Evening activities include guided tours of Virasat-e-Khalsa and other historical sites, followed by a drone show illustrating the Gurus’ martyrdom and Punjab’s rich heritage.
Throughout the three days, katha, kirtan, devotion, and community service will be central, creating a spiritual atmosphere for all attendees. Organizers emphasized that the congregation honors not only history but also the philosophy that makes Sikhism a global symbol of courage and sacrifice.
Officials said the event reflects Punjab’s pride and heritage. “This celebration is deeply meaningful to every Punjabi, connecting our history, values, and identity,” they said.
