Barnala, February 28, 2026: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi described Punjab as the core “foundation of India” during a major rally in Barnala on Saturday. Speaking about the state’s strategic and cultural importance, Gandhi maintained that the people of Punjab act as the country’s protectors and expressed a deep personal bond with the region.

“I see the strength of India, the foundation of India here,” Gandhi declared while addressing the crowd.

He stated that his visits to the state are a source of “great joy” and reaffirmed his commitment to the residents. “If I ever write a book, I will tell you in detail,” he noted, referring to his adoration for the Punjabi spirit.

Turning his attention to party dynamics, Gandhi asserted that internal unity is non-negotiable.

He maintained that success can only be achieved through collective effort, stating that “a solo player cannot win a match.”

He declared that the party leadership would not hesitate to sideline those who fail to cooperate.

“It does not matter how big an individual is, as no one is bigger than the party,” Gandhi affirmed. He stated that the “ground workers are actual players” and must be respected as the backbone of the organization. He cautioned that he and Mallikarjun Kharge are prepared to take “appropriate action” against leaders who do not demonstrate a team-oriented mindset.

The Congress leader concluded by reiterating that while political strategies are necessary, his primary focus remains the welfare and strength of the people.

“You are our protector and we love you,” he stated, asserting that the spirit of Punjab remains the ultimate strength of the nation.
