CHANDIGARH, FEB 5: The annual Rose Festival is scheduled to take place at the Sector 16 Rose Garden from February 20 to 22, promising a vibrant showcase of nature and art. The Municipal Corporation has initiated the process for the event by inviting bids for approximately 30 stalls that will be situated within the festival grounds.

According to the official notice, these 10×10 feet spaces will be allotted through an open auction. The civic body has specified that the stalls are intended for the display and sale of a variety of products, ranging from nursery plants and garden equipment to handicrafts and art pieces.

“The stalls will be permitted to sell and display a wide range of items, including garden decor, nursery plants, interior decor items, floral decorations, and decorative articles,” the notice mentioned.

The auction for these spots is set for February 10. To join the bidding, interested parties are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 50,000 via a demand draft. While a diverse array of goods like aquariums, books, and manure will be available, the corporation has clarified that food and beverage sales are strictly prohibited at these particular locations.

The administration has also set firm environmental guidelines for all participants. The use of single-use plastic, as well as flex boards and banners, is banned to maintain the ecological balance of the garden.

“Single-use plastic will be strictly prohibited, and exhibitors will be required to avoid the use of flex boards and banners,” the civic body noted.

Stall holders must ensure no littering occurs and that the surrounding landscape remains undamaged throughout the three-day mega event.
