New Delhi, Aug 10: The Supreme Court on Sunday postponed the hearing on a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking tighter regulation of online education platforms across India. The PIL raises concerns about unregulated content, data privacy, and the mental well-being of students using these platforms.

During proceedings, the bench directed both the Ministry of Education and representatives of online learning companies to prepare comprehensive reports addressing the issues raised. “Given the increasing reliance on digital education, regulation is essential to safeguard students,” the petitioner’s counsel argued.

The court scheduled the next hearing for August 20, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that ensures quality education while protecting users.
