CHANDIGARH, Sept 7: — Lieutenant Sharma has joined the Kumaon Regiment, the same unit where his father serves, becoming a second-generation officer in the Indian Army.
Punjab’s Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora congratulated Sharma on his commissioning and wished him success in his career. “With this commissioning, the number of cadets from Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) who have become officers has reached 179,” Arora said.
Maj Gen Ajay H. Chauhan (retd), director of MRSAFPI, also extended his congratulations. He noted that the current batch of cadets is preparing to appear for the UPSC NDA (II) written examination scheduled for September 14.
The commissioning of Sharma continues MRSAFPI’s record of producing officers for the armed forces, strengthening the institute’s role in training and mentoring cadets for military careers.
