Amritsar, April 30 — Marking a significant turn in his public life, cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on Wednesday unveiled his new YouTube channel, NavjotSidhuOfficial, a move he described as a departure from political discourse and a step toward sharing his personal and spiritual journey.
“This is about who I am — not as a politician, but as a human being,” Sidhu said at the launch.
“For the first time, I will share my life story, thoughts on spirituality, health, comedy, lifestyle, and motivation in a simple and relatable way.”
The channel, which carries the tagline “Master of All Trades, Jack of None, All-in-One,” will initially focus on Sidhu’s two-decade-long international cricket career.
It will later expand to include motivational talks, wellness content, and reflections on his life beyond politics.
Alongside the YouTube channel, Sidhu has also introduced new pages on Instagram and other social platforms.
These accounts operate under the banner “The whole world is my family, all mankind my brethren. To spread happiness and do good my religion,” a message he said encapsulates the core of his current mission.
“There will be no political content on my new channel,” Sidhu noted, while adding that his wife, Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu — a former MLA from Amritsar East — would continue to remain active in politics. When asked about his own political future, Sidhu replied, “Only time will tell.”
A former Punjab Congress chief, Sidhu has served three terms in the Lok Sabha representing Amritsar, in addition to stints as a Rajya Sabha member and an MLA.
However, his recent absence from political activity — alongside that of his wife — has led the Congress to appoint former MP Jasbir Singh Dhimpa as in-charge of the Amritsar East constituency.
Reflecting on his past roles, Sidhu recalled his varied career trajectory. “I started off with cricket, then switched over to commentary, followed by comedy and reality shows. Politics gave me satisfaction, but commentary brought me happiness,” he said.
Anand Kanwar, Director of ArtKonnect Management, who is overseeing the content strategy and scheduling for the new channel, said the platform will begin by revisiting Sidhu’s cricketing insights and anecdotes.
“We will follow that with his motivational talks, health practices, and stories of personal resilience — including Dr. Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s battle with cancer,” Kanwar mentioned.
Sidhu’s daughter, Rabia Sidhu, is co-producing the channel and emphasized the authentic and lighthearted tone it will maintain. “This channel will be full of ‘Sidhuism’ — those iconic one-liners that reflect who he really is,” she said.
“They come from his daily hours of meditation. His sense of style, diet plan, and way of thinking all deserve to be shared with the world.”
She also mentioned that his signature one-liners are not scripted but emerge organically.
“He never needed any app or prompt. He meditates for hours every day, and the ideas just come to him naturally,” she said.
“That side of him — his discipline, routine, and lifestyle — is something people don’t often get to see.”
While distancing himself from direct political engagement on digital platforms, Sidhu maintained that he had earlier raised pressing issues via social media but saw little follow-up from successive governments.
With NavjotSidhuOfficial, he now aims to connect with a broader audience through personal narratives, inspiration, and reflections — a platform he believes is more aligned with his present purpose.
