PATIALA, Aug. 23 — Senior PCS officer Simarpreet Kaur of the 2014 batch on Saturday assumed charge as Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Patiala.
Soon after taking over, Kaur said her focus would be on ensuring that government services are delivered promptly and transparently in line with the priorities of the Punjab government and the directions of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav.
“Providing government services to citizens in a time-bound and transparent manner will be my first priority so that the benefits of welfare schemes reach the grassroots,” she said.
Kaur has previously served in a wide range of administrative roles across the state. Her postings include Assistant Commissioner (General) and AC Complaints Officer at Patiala, Additional Chief Administrator of the Patiala Development Authority, Secretary of the Punjab Public Service Commission, and SDM at Nabha, Dirba, Doodhansadhan, and Tapa. She has also held assignments in the Excise, Water Supply and Sanitation, and Public Works departments.
Officials said her experience in diverse departments is expected to strengthen administrative functioning in the district.
