KOKERNAG, Dec 29 — Vehicular traffic on the Daksum-Sinthan Top–Chhatroo Road (NH-244) and Gowran–Margan Top Road has been suspended following heavy snowfall, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kokernag announced Monday.
The SDM’s order noted that snowfall during the night of December 28–29, along with further predicted snow in the coming days, has made the roads unsafe. “Vehicular movement on both routes will remain suspended until further instructions,” the order said.
Snow clearance teams will work to restore safe conditions, and the roads will reopen only after being certified fit for traffic. The Station House Officer (SHO) Larnoo has been instructed to ensure barricades are in place and to prevent unauthorized travel during the closure period.
Authorities urged the public and all concerned departments to strictly adhere to the order to avoid any accidents or mishaps.
