CHANDIGARH, MAY 31 — Punjab celebrated its newly acquired status as India’s top-performing state in school education quality by hosting mass parent-teacher interactive sessions in every government school campus.
The state-wide initiative follows the release of the NITI Aayog’s School Education Quality Report 2026, which placed Punjab ahead of Kerala on critical foundational learning indicators. The administration utilized the milestone to strengthen ties between households and classrooms, drawing massive participation from local communities.
The events combined academic reporting with targeted parents’ workshops designed to sustain student engagement over the summer months. School staff provided families with practical guidelines on holiday assignments and structured home study environments.
“For decades, people were told that quality education was not possible in government schools,” Education Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains affirmed while addressing the gathering. “Today, Punjab has proven them wrong. This rank is a revolution built in our classrooms.”
The logistics for the massive exercise involved comprehensive preparatory briefings for educators via specialized online streaming sessions. This systemic preparation ensured smooth operations across all 19,000 venues, where institutional leaders collaborated directly with neighborhood committees.
In tandem with the workshops, individual school authorities felicitated regional board toppers and competitive engineering entrance exam achievers, presenting them with merit certificates alongside decorations for dedicated teaching staff.
