Mohali, Feb 15: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is undergoing medical tests at Fortis Hospital in Mohali after falling ill during his tour of the state. The Chief Minister was moved to the hospital after his health reportedly fluctuated while traveling from Sangrur, where he had been attending religious ceremonies. Doctors at the facility mentioned that Mann reached the hospital at approximately 3:20 p.m. and was immediately attended to by senior consultants.
The health incident occurred shortly after Mann was seen with Arvind Kejriwal during Mahashivratri celebrations. Plans for the Chief Minister to visit Fazilka were scrapped as his medical team advised immediate attention for a spike in blood pressure. Sources asserted that the Chief Minister left for Chandigarh following the events in Sangrur but was redirected to the Mohali hospital when his symptoms persisted.
Representatives from the Chief Minister’s Office declared that all official programs for the remainder of the day have been suspended. They affirmed that the administration is prioritizing the Chief Minister’s recovery and will provide updates as they become available. Despite the sudden nature of the hospitalization, officials maintained that the situation is being handled by a team of experts and requested the public to avoid speculation.
