CHANDIGARH, June 4 – A 16-year-old school student was allegedly assaulted and robbed by two unidentified men near NIMMS University in Khuda Lahora on Tuesday afternoon, police said.
The victim, Akshit Yadav, a Class 11 student at Ankur Public School in Mohali, was on his way to the gym in Sector 15 around 2:40 p.m. when the incident occurred.
According to Akshit’s statement, he had requested a lift from two young men on a black Platina motorcycle near the IRB Complex to reach Khuda Lahora. The duo agreed to help him.
However, by around 3:00 p.m., as they approached the university area, the bike came to a halt. Without warning, the rider began slapping Akshit and forcibly took away his mobile phone. Simultaneously, the pillion rider pulled out Akshit’s wallet, which contained ₹230 in cash, a photocopy of his Aadhaar card, and his school ID.
The assailants then fled the scene, leaving Akshit behind.
The victim filed a complaint at Sarangpur police station. He also provided the motorcycle’s registration number — PB27-E-8261 — to the police.
Police said a case has been registered under Section 304 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
