Uri, March 15: Army and police personnel successfully halted an infiltration bid in the Uri sector early Sunday morning, resulting in the death of one Pakistani terrorist. The encounter occurred in the Buchhar region after security forces acted on precise intelligence provided by the Jammu and Kashmir Police concerning suspicious movements along the border.
The operation was initiated during the late hours of March 14 and stretched into the early morning of March 15. A security official affirmed that the joint party had established a strategic ambush in response to the warnings. Upon noticing a person moving through the dense brush, the troops moved to intercept the threat.
“The terrorist opened fire on the alert troops when challenged, leading to a confrontation,” the official stated.
Following the brief gunfight, the area was cordoned off and searched. Officials declared that the operation resulted in the recovery of an AK rifle and pistols. Security forces maintained that the recovery of these weapons and a large quantity of ammunition indicates a significant attempt to disrupt peace in the region.
