Mohali, June 18: Three persons were arrested and several others booked for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a local resident over a financial dispute near Sector 82 market on Tuesday morning.
According to the police, the accused — Sandeep Malik, Devinder Singh and Amit — were apprehended within four hours of the incident, while others have been booked under Sections 109, 140(3), and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at IT City Police Station.
Gurinder Kaur, the complainant, stated that her husband, Inderjit Singh, who runs a furniture manufacturing unit, was intercepted near Sector 82 around 9 am, assaulted, and forcibly taken away in a jeep.
DSP (City-2) Harsimran Singh Bal confirmed the arrests and said the SUV used in the crime had also been recovered. Further investigation is underway to identify and nab the remaining accused.
