MOHALI, May 25— In a significant drug bust, Mohali police arrested three suspected traffickers and seized 200 grams of heroin and 153 narcotic capsules in Mullanpur, officials said on Sunday.
The accused—Parveen Kumar, Vinay Kumar, and Bir Singh—are all residents of Haryana. They were intercepted at a checkpoint following specific intelligence inputs, police confirmed.
During a detailed search of their Haryana-registered vehicle, officers recovered the narcotics. The vehicle has since been impounded.
“A case has been registered under Sections 21, 61, and 85 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Mullanpur police station,” a police spokesperson said. “The trio has been remanded to police custody for further interrogation and investigation.”
Police added that the arrests are part of their ongoing efforts to crack down on the supply chain of drugs operating across state borders.
