Lucknow, Jan 5: To benefit a large number of police aspirants, the Uttar Pradesh government has approved a three-year relaxation in the maximum age limit for candidates applying for police posts under Direct Recruitment 2025.
The decision covers 32,679 vacancies across multiple posts, including Constable Civil Police (Male/Female), PAC and Armed Police, Special Security Force, Women Constable for Women Battalion, Mounted Police, and Jail Warder positions.
According to a government order, the relaxation will be provided as a one-time measure to all candidates appearing in the recruitment process.
“The objective is to ensure that no eligible candidate is deprived of an opportunity due to age constraints arising from recruitment delays,” the government said.
Officials said the decision was taken on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, keeping in mind the concerns of youth who have been preparing for police recruitment examinations for several years.
The state government said the move aligns with its policy of expanding employment opportunities and ensuring balanced administrative decisions.
Further details regarding application timelines and eligibility conditions are expected to be released along with the official recruitment notification.
