US Envoy Pushes for ‘Next Level’ India Ties

by TheReportingTimes

NEW DELHI, JAN 12: US Ambassador Sergio Gor has declared that no partner is more essential than India, marking his first day in office with a proposal for a new technological alliance. The PaxSilica initiative, which India is expected to join in February, focuses on creating a secure supply chain for everything from critical minerals and semiconductors to AI development and logistics.

The envoy’s arrival follows a year-long vacancy in the post and coincides with heightened trade tensions. Currently, Indian exports to the US face stiff tariffs linked to energy imports from Russia. Despite these challenges, Gor struck a hopeful note, revealing that a high-level trade call is scheduled for tomorrow to break the deadlock.

“The friendship between President Trump and Prime Minister Modi is real,” Gor told reporters, adding that the relationship is anchored at the highest levels of government. He stressed that while disagreements exist, the strategic necessity of the partnership ensures that differences will be resolved through active engagement.

Gor’s tenure is being viewed as a move to redefine diplomacy through a focus on innovation-driven manufacturing and economic security. While navigating the finish line of trade negotiations remains a priority, the Ambassador signaled that cooperation in health, education, and technology would continue to move forward. He concluded by expressing his desire to see a presidential visit to India in the near future to strengthen the democratic axis.
