LUCKNOW — Following an on-ground assessment of rain-impacted areas in Chitrakoot, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a comprehensive meeting on Sunday to streamline immediate relief measures and formulate long-term flood mitigation strategies. Emphasizing an empathetic approach to public welfare, the Chief Minister stated that no eligible family should face delays in receiving government assistance for agricultural or residential damage.
The state executive instructed administrative teams to complete surveys of damaged crops, commercial properties, and religious institutions across Chitrakoot Dham without delay. Families displaced by severe structural collapses will receive housing support under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, alongside financial grants for partial home repairs. To safeguard public health following receding water levels, health department personnel under the Chief Medical Officer have been deployed to monitor sanitation, distribute clean drinking water, and provide timely medical treatment across flood-hit localities.
Addressing structural concerns along the Mandakini River, the Chief Minister ordered the systematic removal of catchment encroachments through consultations with local representatives and residents. Joint action plans involving the Tourism, Irrigation, and Urban Development departments were commissioned to prevent sewage discharge into the river, alongside a PWD safety audit of the local foot overbridge. Additionally, the Chief Minister mandated livestock health checks at gaushalas and set a firm deadline to complete the Chitrakoot Dham-to-airport road before the Vijayadashami festival.
