Bathinda, AUGUST 19: Police authorities in Bathinda initiated formal legal action after video footage surfaced online showing a young man being brutally assaulted with an iron rod at Tungrali village.
Responding to the viral footage, Talwandi Sabo DSP Jasjot Singh stated that the victim, identified as Satveer, was admitted to a nearby hospital where medical staff continue to treat his injuries. He noted that the violent incident took place on Monday before being widely circulated across online platforms.
The senior police officer affirmed that investigating teams are documenting the victim’s official statement at the medical facility to register formal charges against the attackers. Police officials maintained that both involved parties share an established history of inter-family disputes, which directly led to the physical clash.
Political figures responded swiftly to the incident, with Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia sharing the video online and asserting that the victim sustained severe fractures in both legs. Police teams have assured that a thorough inquiry is underway to apprehend every individual captured in the footage.
