One of the best players in the world is without a doubt Virat Kohli, the star batsman for India. With his explosive batting, Kohli has elevated Indian cricket to new heights since making his debut in 2008 and broken multiple records. Even though he is leaving the Twenty20 Internationals, Kohli is on track to surpass the record held by the great Sachin Tendulkar for the most century-scoring innings in international cricket. In addition to Team India, Kohli has made a significant IPL contribution for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Since the 2008 IPL season, when he first joined RCB, Kohli has been a member of the team.

Even though they play fantastic cricket, RCB has not yet won an IPL championship. But with a sizable fan base, RCB is one of the largest IPL teams.
Kohli was recently asked to select his preferred opponent between the three-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders and the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. Kohli chose KKR as his favorite opponent team.
Kohli completed his 16-year career as an international cricket player earlier on Sunday. Shortly after being named the Under-19 World Cup winning captain in Kuala Lumpur, in 2008, Kohli made his debut in international cricket in India’s One-Day International against Sri Lanka at Dambulla Stadium.
“16 years ago today, a 19-year-old @imVkohli stepped onto the international stage for the first time, marking the beginning of what has become a truly legendary career. Congratulations to the King on completing 16 years in international cricket!” BCCI secretary Jay Shah tweeted on X (previously Twitter) congratulating Kohli.
Alongside current Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir, Kohli opened the batting in his debut international match but only managed to score 12 runs. At an average of 31.80, he finished his first international series with 159 runs in five games.
Since then, Kohli has developed into one of India’s most potent batting forces, amassing 13,906 runs in 295 One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He also holds the record for the most hundreds by a male batter in the ODI format with 50 centuries, 27 of those ones coming during run chases. In addition, he has scored 4,188 runs in 125 Twenty20 Internationals and 8,848 runs in 113 Test matches.
