May ,12: Virat Kohli Retirement: Within a week, Indian cricket has had two significant setbacks. Virat Kohli has declared his retirement from Test cricket, following Rohit Sharma.
He shared this information on Instagram on Monday. According to media reports over the past several days, Kohli told the BCCI that he was retiring, but the BCCI begged him to change his mind because of the forthcoming England Test series. But Kohli made the decision to stop playing Test cricket.
Since regular skipper Rohit also withdrew from Test cricket on May 8, this is a major blow for India. Two iconic athletes have retired within a week, leaving fans in disbelief. This marks the conclusion of a chapter in Indian Test cricket. Next month, India will travel to England. The team will play a five-match Test series during this time.
